Alan Harper (Jon Cryer)
Alan is a chiropractor, and is the younger brother of Charlie. He is the total opposite of Charlie, he is shy, more so in the company of women, a bit of a nerd, uptight, and is always bullied when he was younger. While Charlie can get any girl he wanted because of his charm, Alan almost always end up in a bad relationship, the last one, with his ex wife Judith, has left him broke because of the cause of divorce and alimony.

Alan can be sometimes annoying, because of his cheapness, neurotic attitude and inept social skills. Although generally a nice guy, his insufferable attitude leaves him little sympathy from Charlie, Evelyn, Judith or Jake.
Jonathan Niven “Jon” Cryer plays the role of Alan Harper. Jon was born in April 16, 1965 in New York. He is known for his role as Duckie in the film Pretty in Pink, he has also appeared in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. He has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Alan Harper in Two and a Half Men.
