Judith Harper (Marin Hinkle)
Judith is Alan’s gold digger ex wife. They were married for 13 years and she eventually decides to kick him out. She is fond of humiliating Alan and likewise hates Charlie because Charlie always goes out of his way to annoy her. She uses her son to milk Alan of his alimony, and really is hard on Alan after their divorce. Alan clearly still has feelings for her even though their marriage is not really a happy one.
She eventually remarried to Dr. Herb Melnick, Jake’s pediatrician. Though it made Alan happy because he doesn’t have to pay alimony anymore, she still bothers him with child support. She and Alan reunite briefly when she and Herb went through some troubles, but she eventually went back to Herb. During this time, she announces that she was pregnant, and the child she is pregnant with is either Herb’s or Alan’s.
Marin Hinkle plays the role of Judith. Marin was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She appeared on the TV series Spin City, Law & Order: SVU, ER, House M.D., and on the films I Am Sam, Quarantine, and The Haunting of Molly Hartley.

Later, Charlie gives awful advice to Herb who came over to drop Jake’s things .Herb does as Charlie suggests and Judith kicks him out. He then tries to get Charlie to hang out with him, and after Charlie repeatedly ignores his calls, he tracks him down at Pavlov’s. On the other hand, Alan feels a sense of relief that Herb and Judith are going through some problems, as this justifies that he wasn’t the only one to blame for the destruction of their marriage. He goes over to Judith’s to gloat about it but ends up sleeping with her as she informs him that she is never, ever going to let him go, freaking him out about what’s to come. [...]
